Nintendo Blames Itself For Lackluster Wii U Sales

By: Steve Wylde

The CEO of Nintendo has publicly acknowledged the fact that it is their fault the Wii U sold as poorly as it did. He blames it on a lack of effort to market this particular console to consumers. The lack of marketing contributed to gamers not understanding what made the WII U unique compared to other consoles.

He states that people need to have experience with the console to see how amazing it really is. The lack of game titles that are interesting enough to make people want to purchase a Wii U is one of the reasons that it has not done well. In fact, Nintendo cut their sales forecast for the Wii U in January of 2013 due to the fact that the sales of the console were much lower than the company expected them to be. The company is planning to make an effort to increase sales.
