Microsoft Announces 3-D Printing Support to Window 8.1

By: Steve Wylde

Microsoft announced on Wednesday that it will adding 3-D printing support to it’s Windows 8.1 operating system.  This is another big step forward is pushing the excitement amongst 3-D printer designers and early adopters as millions of PCs will all of a sudden have support for 3-D printing on their desktops.

This new plug and play support for 3-D printers will take away some of the challenges from operating such a printer bringing this new emerging technology one more step closer to becoming a mainstream reality.  I would be on the look out for further price decreases in 3-D printers in the near future, and before you know it, we won’t remember how we could of possibly survived without being able to make our own ipad covers from home.
