HAL 9000 Life-Size Replica

By: Steve Wylde

The HAL 9000 Life-Size Replica is an exact copy of the HAL 9000 from the 1968 movie 2001 A Space Odyssey. HAL 9000 was made from the actual studio blueprints to make it as exact as possible with an exact replica of the rare and expensive Nikkor fish-eye lens that was used for the one in the film. HAL easily mounts on a wall and responds to your voice with one of 15 random quotes from the movie, such as “I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that. I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do. This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it." It is made with aircraft-grade aluminum, with anodized black components and only weighs 2 pounds.

People who loved the movie will love to own and show off the HAL 9000 Life-Size Replica. It runs on one 9-volt battery and stats by rotating the lens, and will activate when it is spoken to for longer than 1.2 seconds are. Be sure to stock up on batteries, because this is sure to be a hit with visitors.
