By: Steve Wylde

With close to 175 million users and on the rise, Dropbox recently announced expanding it’s operating as just a simple cloud storage app to a fully-fledged platform of services.  CEO and founder Drew Houston stated this includes keeping structured data in sync, working offline, handling conflicts, and working across multiple operating systems. He went on to say, "Sync is the new save. We're never going back." Houston described how while Dropbox began as just a simple file storage and file sharing platform, it has actually filled a void and been used for much more than cloud storage for content but also an online hub for families, friends, and colleagues to communicate and share. " We took a complicated problem and invented a simple solution," Houston went on to say.
